Fig Jam Recipe

It is that time of the year when we start having social gatherings, potlucks and holiday celebrations with family and friends. If you want to brighten up your cheese board or impress your friends and family (or yourself) this holiday, add this fig jam recipe to your menu! It is really easy to make and goes well with an assortment of charcuterie board toppings.

I don’t think I care much for fresh figs on their own and some of you might even be thinking of Fig Newtons and how much you don’t like them but trust me! Figs in jam form are actually very delicious. There is just something about reducing figs in sugar and lemon juice that brings out its honey and berry like flavors in the best way. Plus if you are like me and love the flavor of Bourbon in a lot of sweet recipes, you can make your fig jam even better with a few tablespoons of Bourbon.

There are so many things you can pair your jam with. It goes well with goat cheese, some brie and prosciutto, and of course just simple with butter on toast. And don’t let a cheese board and some toast be the limit to how you enjoy your fig jam, you can be as adventurous as you wish with it. So go get yourself some fresh figs and come try this fig jam recipe. And if you are looking for other jam recipes, check out this Guava Jam I made a while ago.
